My wish for the women of the world is to feel genuinely confident
in who they are and know that it is enough. It is always enough, whether you
are a Park Avenue princess or an Around-the-Way girl from Compton.
My wish is that every woman can recognize her uniqueness and be OK
with that. We see people around us, all the time that we think are
somehow better. They may be prettier, or have better clothes or more
money. They may be smarter and more accomplished, but it doesn't matter.
You are enough.
My wish is that every woman knew that in the history of mankind,
there will never be another you. Own that. Live that. You are enough. This
journey you are on is about your relationship with yourself.
My wish is that we do away with definitions of what a "real
woman" is. We are stay-at-home moms and CEOs - and everything in
between. It's a personal choice and it's never static. Today's CEO
may have been yesterday's stay-at-home mom.
My wish is that women aren't defined by whether or not they've
married and reproduced. It's not a requirement for a happy life.
My wish is that women would take responsibility for their life and
choices. It's better this way. If you did it, you can undo it. You
can make another choice.
My wish is that women remember that you teach people how to treat
you. If you're OK with being disrespected, they are OK with disrespecting
you.
My wish is that women would trust their intuition, that small
still voice inside that wants to guide you to the exact right place you need to
be.
My wish is that you leave this world with no regrets, only lessons
learned. I hope you can be proud of the choices you've made, the chances you
took and that you stretched and pushed yourself.
My wish is that women have fun and not take it all so seriously.
Sometimes the obstacles are actually the path.
My wish is that all women get to be exactly the woman they want to
be.
These are my wishes for you, but they are also my wishes for
me.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Let's smash this.
Until Monday...
