M.A.F.C.

“Make a fucking commitment!”

That’s what I find myself shouting from my car at people trying to merge onto the freeway or change lanes.

You want to get onto the freeway? Well then, speed up. You think that the freeway is just going to stop while you’re trying to get on?  Speed up! Get with the flow of what’s happening.  Stop being timid.  You want to change lanes (or get a job or get the girl/boy or lose weight or be a better person) then fucking act like it, put your back into it.  Is it scary?  Sure, but scary isn’t impossible.

Stop hesitating.

Stop equivocating.

Stop bullshitting.

Stop making excuses.

Life isn’t going to do anything but keep going.  It does not stop.  Not even after someone dies and you expect it to.

If you want something, you have to just go for it.  I’m not slowing down so you can get onto the freeway.  The speed limit is 65. You’re trying to get on at a steady 40 mph. Do you honestly think that’s a good idea?

Really? Well, it isn’t.

No one is going to freeze time just so you can slip in.   It’s your attitude and actions that makes things happen.   Shrugging your shoulders does nothing.  Thinking something’s owed to you does nothing. Wishing it were different does nothing.

Make. A. Fucking. Commitment.
