I want to express my sincere apologies to the victims of this world.
Not the victims of wartime atrocities or violent crime, no, I’m talking about those who have suffered because of the general unfairness of life, like an unfortunate birth order or not being their parents’ favorite.
On the world’s behalf, I’m seeking forgiveness from those who are predestined to fall short, simply because no one understands. A thousand pardons if someone else’s hard work, drive and ambition set the stage for your failure.
It must be incredibly difficult to survive when another person’s mere existence ruins any chance of your happiness. Even further, the uphill battle is constant because the world won’t give you what you are owed.
I cannot imagine what an incredible burden it must be, seeing everyone else get their heart's desire and you? Well, you’re still living at home with mom and dad like you’re 16 – except you’re 30. You've never finished anything you've started...but how can you with all the pressure to be responsible and pull your own weight? I can’t believe your family has the unmitigated gall to expect you to find a job and your own place. You’ve been living with them the last several years rent free; don’t they know the economy is bad?
I know, I know. Perseverance is an incredibly difficult undertaking. Day after day, in constant pursuit of a goal…inspite of obstacles. Getting up to go to work everyday, that's a beeeatch.
I just need to know one thing. Would you please tell me what it is that you were supposed to get that you didn’t? Was it more love? More respect? Should you have been born more beautiful? Is it a matter of money? Do you not have all of your limbs?
Wait, wait...before you tell me, let me get my violin.
